HumAhang
The HumAhang ("In Harmony") program is a five-year initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), collaboratively implemented by the Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI), the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT), and Blumont Pakistan. Launched in March 2024, HumAhang aims to foster peace-building and dialogue between citizens and governments in South Punjab and North Sindh, promoting inclusive governance and social cohesion.
Key Features
- Promoting Dialogue and Civic Engagement: HumAhang facilitates platforms for constructive dialogue between communities and government entities, ensuring that voices of women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are heard in decision-making processes.
- Capacity Building for Critical Sectors: The program enhances the capabilities of local organizations and institutions by providing training in financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and compliance with international standards, thereby strengthening governance structures.
- Collaboration with Governments and Legislatures: HumAhang works closely with provincial governments and legislative bodies to advocate for policies that uphold human rights, gender equality, and social justice, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Advocating for Human Rights & Gender Equality: Through conferences, workshops, and community initiatives, the program addresses issues such as gender-based violence and discrimination, promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.
