Citizens Network for Budget Accountability (CNBA)
Purpose:
CNBA focuses on promoting budget transparency and citizen engagement in fiscal governance to ensure public funds are used efficiently and accountably.
Affiliation:
CNBA is part of the broader South Asian Alliance for Budget Accountability (SAABA), which CPDI is also affiliated with
Key Activities:
- Analyzing government budgets (e.g., highlighting insufficient allocations for environment/energy sectors in Punjab).
- Building capacity of journalists and civil society to scrutinize budget documents and advocate for equitable spending.
- Promoting participatory budgeting and accountability in local governance projects, such as CPDI’s initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
