The Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI), in partnership with the U.S. Consulate Peshawar, has undertaken a pivotal project aimed at enhancing the safety and preparedness of journalists operating in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) region. Recognizing the inherent risks faced by media professionals in conflict-prone and remote areas, this initiative focuses on equipping journalists with essential first aid skills to effectively respond to emergencies encountered during their fieldwork.
Project Overview
Launched in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate Peshawar, the project seeks to
- Develop Comprehensive Training Materials: Creation of a tailored first aid training manual, specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by journalists in KP. This manual emphasizes critical areas such as managing severe hemorrhage and ensuring adequate airway management during emergencies.
- Conduct Specialized Training Workshops: Implementation of hands-on training sessions across various divisions, including Peshawar and Mardan, focusing on practical first aid techniques. These workshops are designed to build confidence among journalists, enabling them to administer immediate assistance in crisis situations.
