Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) in alliance with Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) is implementing the Active Citizen Program of the British Council in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Toba Tek Singh. The main objective of the programme is to increase Active Citizens outreach in Pakistan through developing strengthened partnerships with civil society organizations in the country and engage with communities and young people in the selected communities.

Objectives of the proposed program are:

1. To develop leadership and advocacy skills and empower young people to play a pivotal role to bring positive social change within their communities and sensitize them towards identity and conflict issues.

2. To facilitate community and political participation amongst young people through interaction with local community, organizations and local and national governments.

3. To develop an understanding of diversity and difference ensuring inclusivity in terms of gender, disability, ethnicity, faith and vulnerability.

4. To facilitate young people to identify the links between local and global issues and correlate the national and global resonance of local actions.
