RAWALPINDI: The City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) in collaboration with Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) on Friday launched its website: www.rawalpindi.gov.pk.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall inaugurated the website.
Forms of arms licences, domicile and others would be available on the website.
The website has been prepared by the technical staff of CPDI in collaboration with system network administrator and technical staff of the CDGR.
CPDI representative Kasur Abbas informed the gathering that the website was providing facilitation to the district governments of Punjab to ensure transparency and pro-active disclosure of public information under section-4 of Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013.
He said every citizen had the right of access to information to all public offices.
The public offices had been directed by the information commission to ensure information sharing through websites.
All the public record including minutes of meetings, budget expenditures, procurements process, educational and health facilities, recruitment of staff and development projects will be displayed on the website of CDGR to ensure public participation in the decision making process of district government.
Citizens can give their feedback or file a complaint against any official through the website. DCO Sajid Zafar Dall directed the district officials to ensure timely uploading of day to day information on the website.
